Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival Day

Consider starting your trip in style with transfers from the airport by snowmobile or dog sled, instead of private or shared vehicle. Upon arrival at ICEHOTEL, attend the guided check-in tour, where you’ll hear a brief history of the property and instructions on how to sleep in the cold. When checking into the ice rooms, you'll get a key to a locker where you can store your things. When it's time for bed, you’ll pick up sleeping bags and sheets from the reception desk in the warm building connected to the ICEHOTEL, where you'll also find warm bathrooms, showers and a sauna. If you need to use the bathroom during the night, you'll need to get out of your sleeping bag and go the warm building, so don't drink too much before bed!

Day 2 | Dog Sledding

You’ll wake to hot lingonberry juice in bed, served by an ICEHOTEL guide, before going to the ICEHOTEL Restaurant for a buffet breakfast. After breakfast, embark on a 4-hour dog sledding excursion. You’ll meet with mushers who will answer all your questions about dogs, equipment, expeditions and competitions. Lunch at a cozy wilderness camp is included. For dinner, there are two on-site restaurants. The ICEHOTEL Restaurant offers a gastronomic adventure and a high-end a la carte menu in a modern atmosphere. The authentic Old Homestead Restaurant is a timber building from 1768 overlooking the Torne River, serving a rustic á la carte menu. There is also the ICEBAR for drinks and the Lounge for light bites.

Day 3 | Northern Lights

Enjoy a relaxing sauna session before buffet breakfast at the ICEHOTEL Restaurant. After breakfast, test your creative skills in a 1.5-hour ice sculpting class. The instructor will talk about your block of crystal–clear ice from the Torne River, as well as the basics of ice sculpting and how to use the tools. In the afternoon, embark on a 5-hour northern lights hunt on horseback. You’ll get to groom, saddle, and bridle your horse for the evening. Your group will ride out into the winter night and hopefully see both the northern lights and moose! Back at the farm, you will help untack the horses before you are served a dinner made from local produce in a Sami hut. Roundtrip transfers to the farm are included.

Check into your stylish room, then spend the afternoon exploring the immediate neighborhood. Take a stroll along Stockholm’s waterfront and through Kungsträdgården, a public park in the historic royal gardens with a winter ice rink, concerts & events, art galleries, restaurants & cafes. Afterwards, stop for traditional Swedish fika (coffee and pastries) at a cozy café.
